'Newsletter February 2012

Well here we are already into the second month of 2012. Time is going so fast which does make us realise that we need to begin campaigning for the next Federal Election. So far we have 2 Members who have come forward as Candidates but we do need more.

In my December Newsletter I asked for ideas from our Members for input into a design for a Trophy to be used as a remembrance of Chas Logan who did so much for our Party. This to be awarded to the Member who is seen to have done most each year to promote the Party.

So far I have not received anything from Members. However, Chas’ Grand-daughter contacted me to say they were grateful that this suggestion had been made in Chas’ honour. She did suggest that as Chas was a keen horseman and farmer that perhaps a tractor and a horse could be part of this Trophy. That may give you an idea??

I am hoping I can involve all States in this and Rod Evans has promised to get a price to have such a Trophy made as he has much experience in that field with his wife being associated with  pony club.

At our first State Executive Meeting for 2012 held on Saturday 4th February we were pleased to welcome one of our newer Members who spoke on several issues. Most of these were to do with our Policies, many of which he does not agree with. We are all entitled to our opinions but it is hoped that positive input is also forthcoming.

It was explained to the meeting that we must have a Policy Committee willing to meet and work on policies, either updating present, or putting forward sensible new policies that can then be passed onto the other States to be discussed and if agreed to, ratified to go into the next issue of the Policy Booklet.

A new Policy Committee of 5 Members was formed to be headed by our Policy Co-ordinator Hank Eefting.

If you have suggestions for Policy input, Hank’s Email address is hankeeft@tadaust.org.au or you can mail anything to me at PO Box 439 Seaford 3198 and I will forward to Hank.

At our meeting it was also decided that we will once again be attending the Agricultural Shows this year to promote the Party. So many still do not realise that One Nation still exists so this is an excellent way to get our message out there.

The first of these Shows will be at Pakenham on March 17th  We desperately need volunteers to assist with the manning of these it cannot be left to just a few.

Our Interim President and Vice President both live in Eastern suburbs of Melbourne so as we  need strong people to erect the Gazebo we are in the first instance looking at Shows in fairly close proximity to Melbourne.

However if you can help further afield it would be appreciated.  Here are some ideas of  venues and dates that you may be able to see that your way clear to take on to do a Show or two for us.   Most of the shows in the first half of the year are in March and the April ones are mostly Field Days which go for 3 and 4 days. So now we go to October and November.

These suggestions are where I know we have Members who I  believe may will be willing to assist.:

October 5th Yarrawonga---Oct. 6th Sunbury---Oct 12th Wandin / Silvan 2 day ( Field Days )

Oct 14th Mansfield—Oct 18th Geelong—Oct 26th Warrnambool—Oct 30th Croydon

November 6th Heathcote -- Nov 9th Ballarat 3 days –Nov 17th Lilydale –Nov 18th Beaufort

Nov 26 Yea

December 6th Maryborough Vic

Please do consider helping us. This IS your Party.

As reported in my last Newsletter the A.E.C. is doing a Membership Review. All necessary documentation was lodged with the A.E.C.  We now await confirmation that all is in order.

We are again asking for expressions of interest from you to nominate for positions on the State Executive at our AGM    Details of this meeting will be arranged at our April meeting.

All positions will be called as vacant so if you would consider joining the team for any of the following positions:

State President—Vice President--Secretary—Treasurer.. The positions of State Director, Policy Co-ordinator and Membership Officer are appointed positions.

I have held off sending this Newsletter to be able to give you results at hand of the S.A. bi-elections held on Saturday 11th February/ The S.A. Executive and Candidates are to be congratulated on their great campaign leading up to these bi-elections. Even coming under notice of the Media.

The results to date, 13-2-2012:

Ramsay—One Nation Candidate Chris Walsh--3.4% with approx 7,000 votes still to be counted being postal, absentee and pre-poll votes. With luck he may still get his 4.00%

Port Adelaide—One Nation Candidate Grant Carlin—1.2% with approx 7,500 still to be counted.

Watch the S.A. Web site for updates as they come in.

As our Interim President and his wife Ros are taking leave from February 25th for 2 weeks and then our Vice President has his 3 weeks annual leave in March it was decided that we would not have a State Exec. Meeting in March.  The Exec however are in constant touch between our meetings.

Our next State Executive meeting is scheduled for  April 21st 2012. If you can attend please contact me nearer to that date. With the uncertainty of the work times of some of our Exec. Members, plus the fact that I could get the call for my operation at any time we cannot make a definite booking.
