ONE NATION VICTORIA

HAS SUCCESSFUL DAY AT THE SHOW

We attended the Pakenham Show on Saturday March 17th. Our thanks to our Interim President Dale Townsend & his wife Ros, along with Max Murray who had our site set up by 8.00 a.m. My husband (Bill) and I arrived at 9.30 a.m. and stayed until after 3.00 p.m.

The interest shown in One Nation was mostly by the older visitors, many who said they did not realise that One Nation was still there. We hear this so often and believe our attendance at Agricultural Shows is a good vehicle to get our message out.

A new Member attended too and assisted us greatly in promoting the party to the public.

We will now focus on attracting younger people at future Shows.

Pat Loy

State Secretary / Director One Nation Victoria.

HONOURABLE OR SHOULD IT BE DIS-HONOURABLE

Letter to The Editor of the Herald Sun : (appeared in paper 29/02/2012)

Can someone please explain why in question time for Parliament, Members are referred to as Honourable. Watching question time and seeing the behaviour of many Members of Parliament, I am sure that this must be the most loosely used word in Parliament. Very few show any semblance of manners, behaving worse than thugs. Perhaps that word should be changed to the more fitting of dis-honourable.

Patricia Loy.

                        PROUD TO CALL AUSTRALIA HOME

So now if we display our Australian Flag we are seen to be racist. Any other Country it would be seen as Patriotic.

To those who object to our Patriotism they may perhaps be in the wrong Country.

They  may be among those whining that they just “want to go home”

Nobody is forcing them to stay.  But a message: if you have accepted financial help from this, our Country, please re-imburse before you leave.

To those who are happy here and perhaps even ready to wave our Flag we welcome you.

These are people like our Migrants of the 50’s and 60’s who are now proud to call Australia Home.

Pat Loy

State Secretary / Director

One Nation Victoria

THE AUSTRALIAN FLAG

The Australian Flag came into being after the the federation of the Australian States into the Commonwealth of Australian on 1 January, 1901. The Commonwealth Blue Ensign was selected a a result of a public competition (over 30 000 designs were submitted); although selected in 1901 and gazetted in 1903, it was not given Royal assent and adopted as the definitive Australian flag until 1954 in the Flags Act 1953 (Act No. 1 of 1954)! It is based on the Blue Ensign of the United Kingdom, is twice as long as it is wide, and consists of a dark blue field that can be notionally divided into four quadrants. There is a different motif in each of the upper and lower hoist quadrants and the remaining two quadrants of the fly share another different constellation motif.

Victoria sinking in ocean of debt

From: AAP  November 10, 2011

EVERY Victorian now has a share of about $10,000 in the State Government's ballooning debt.

The Baillieu Government has also been issued a stern warning about the looming round of public sector wage increases.

Debt has rocketed by $4.4 billion over the past year, and now totals $56 billion.

Auditor-General Des Pearson has warned the state's ability to service that debt is on the wane.

The Budget was held up by an extra $1 billion in taxes and an additional $294 million in water and sewerage charges.

In a report tabled in State Parliament yesterday, Mr Pearson also revealed the state's wages bill had swollen by $1 billion.

"The renegotiating of expiring major enterprise bargaining agreements will likely further increase employee expenses,'' Mr Pearson said.

"This will impose additional cost pressure on the net result as employee expenses have historically grown at a rate above CPI.''

Over the past five years, the CPI has grown by 15.3 per cent, but public sector wages have soared by 35.6 per cent.

Mr Pearson said Victoria's debt was becoming less sustainable because it was growing at a faster rate than economic output.

As a proportion of gross state product, debt represented about 9 per cent of the state's annual output in 2006-07. By 2010-11, it had doubled to about 18 per cent.

Debt grew last year to fund schools and transport.

A spokeswoman for Treasurer Kim Wells said Mr Pearson's criticisms about debt were directed to the former Labor government.

But shadow treasurer Tim Holding said Labor was not to blame.

"Debt is rising at faster levels than ever forecast under Labor,'' he said.

Mrs Pat Loy, State Secretary of One Nation (Victorian Division) said the Liberal Government in Victoria under its Premier Ted Baillieu since being elected to office in December 2010 has done nothing to curb this escalating debt in the state.

“It is all to easy to blame the previous Labor Government, as it is now time for the Baillieu Government to find solutions” Mrs Loy said.

         DID YOU KNOW

We get the Governments we vote for, or who others vote for.

Perhaps it is time that the two Party preferred system was overturned and the minor Parties be looked at.  Many of these have policies that are put there for us, the people of this Great Country. Maybe they aren't ready to Govern but they just might do as Don Chipp used to say " Keep the bastards honest"
